What We’re Watching: Are the Common Core Standards the Path to a Better Educated America?

The CUNY Institute for Education Policy recently hosted a forum on the ELA Common Core Standards, officially the Standards for English Language Arts & Literacy in History/Social Studies, Science, and Technical Subjects.

In this video, David Steiner, Dean of Hunter College School of Education, and Mark Bauerlein, professor of English at Emory University, discuss whether and how the Common Core standards for English language arts will transform learning across the country. The discussion is moderated by Peter Meyer.
