Charter schools now enroll 2.9 million students, up 9% from last year, according to a new report from the National Alliance of Public Charter Schools described in the Washington Post.

The NAPCS also released updated figures for last year based on corrected data from Arizona. The new numbers suggest that charter school enrollment grew 7% last year, not 14%, as previously reported.

The report also includes data on charter school enrollment and growth in enrollment by state.

Last summer, Chester E. Finn, Jr. and Bruno Manno took stock of the charter movement as it reached its 25th anniversary.
