NPR recently posted another installment of their series “Tiny Desk Kitchen” in which they take a look at the ingredients in school meals. This video examines the surprising ingredients that go into a burger served at a school in California.

In 2005, Education Next sent Mark Zanger, a restaurant critic, to Boston schools to report on the state of school lunches. Read “What’s For Lunch” to get the inside scoop. Ron Haskins wrote about the federal school lunch program in “The School Lunch Lobby: A charmed federal program that no longer just feeds the hungry,” in the same issue.
