EdStat: The Art of Problem Solving Online Community has 300,000 Members

The Art of Problem Solving (AoPS) is a math curriculum and online learning community that supports students who excel in math. It has grown into a 300,000-member online community with classes, video lessons, and an adaptive learning system. Most AoPS students have high interest and ability in math, and six members of the US team that won the 2015 International Math Olympiad had collectively enrolled in over 40 AoPS classes. Read AoPS founder Richard Rusczyk’s conversation with Education Next executive editor Rick Hess to learn more about the genesis of this unique online community and how the AoPS Initiative is working with high-potential students in underserved communities in New York City and Los Angeles.
