EdNext Podcast: Does Test-Based Accountability Work?

David J. Deming sits down with EdNext’s Marty West to discuss his new study on the effects of a test-based accountability system in Texas.

The study looks at long-term outcomes, including college enrollment and completion rates and earnings, to see if test-based accountability has an impact and why.

David Deming is associate professor of education and economics at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. He co-authored the study When Does Accountability Work? with Sarah Cohodes, Jennifer Jennings and Christopher Jencks.

The EdNext Podcast is available on iTunes, Soundcloud, Stitcher and here every Wednesday.
