Dual Enrollment for the Talented Tenth

A new article on the EdNext website looks at dual enrollment—when high school students are allowed to enroll in college courses to satisfy high school graduation requirements—and in particular, how well it works for high-achieving students who are looking for an extra challenge.

In the article, June Kronholz visits an Indianapolis program and talks with the high school students who are taking advantage of it. The stickiest issue, June writes, is who pays for the classes.

Please read, “High Schoolers in College,” which will appear in the Summer 2011 issue of Education Next, and is now available online.
