Morning Edition featured the story of a neighborhood-run New Orleans charter school in an area that was hit hard by Katrina that has just been rebuilt. An article by Kathryn Newmark and Veronique deRugy that appeared in Ed Next in 2006 looked at early efforts to rebuild the school system in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.

In 2008, Ed Next published “The Vallas Effect,” an article by Dale Mezzacappa that looked at Paul Vallas’ plans for the Recovery School District in New Orleans.
