The ed school at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities is considering a plan that would ensure that prospective teachers can “discuss their own histories and current thinking drawing on notions of white privilege, hegemonic masculinity, heteronormativity, and internalized oppression,” among other things. An article by Laurie Moses Hines which was published in Ed Next in 2007 looked at the history of attempts to adjust teachers’ attitudes.
