Math results were announced yesterday for the 11 urban school districts participating in the National Assessment of Educational Progress, and Washington, D.C. was the only district to make significant strides in both grade 4 and grade 8. An article in the Winter 2010 issue of Ed Next by June Kronholz takes a close look at the reforms being pursued by D.C. schools chancellor Michelle Rhee, reforms which many believe are driving the test score gains.
