In the Wall Street Journal, Stephanie Banchero about the efforts of a town in Vermont to close its elementary school and reopen it as a private school as way to ward off a state push for school consolidation that could lead to a merger of the school. In a study published in Education Next, Chris Berry looked at the impact of the school consolidation movement and found that students attending smaller schools outperformed students who attended larger consolidated schools.
