Greenwich, Conn. is struggling to comply with a Connecticut law that requires districts to ensure that their schools are racially balanced, according to a front page story in the New York Times. In the Winter 2011 issue of Ed Next, Mike Petrilli looked at a school in Montgomery County, Md. that is succeeding with a diverse student body and described the difficulty of ensuring that all students in a diverse school are challenged.

In a forum that appeared in Ed Next in 2010, Susan Eaton and Steve Rivkin debated desegregation.
