More Chinese students are coming to the U.S. for middle and high school lately, in part to flee the rigid Chinese education system and the country’s rigorous college entrance exam, which students begin preparing for in 9th grade.  In the Winter 2011 issue of Education Next, Peter Meyer wrote about U.S. middle schools as the place where academic achievement goes to die.
