Arts organizations are putting a lot of time and money into arts education in schools and after school, and some are using arts education as a way to turn around schools. In an article that appeared in the Fall 2010 issue of Ed Next, Mark Bauerlein argued against the utilitarian approach being used by arts education organizations to promote spending on arts education.
