Teacher Retirement Benefits
Spring 2009 | Education Next

In New York, lawmakers moved to scale back pensions for state employees, including teachers, by raising the retirement age from 55 to 62. An article by Bob Costrell and Mike Podgursky that was published in the Spring 2009 issue of Ed Next looked at the high cost of teacher benefits.

Last month, Costrell and Podgursky wrote about reforming teacher pensions on the Ed Next blog (Teacher Pension Reform: A Way Out of the Impasse).
