Two hearings held by The National Commission on Military, National, and Public Service were held on June 20, 2019.

The morning hearing was on Civic Education and Service in Schools. The speakers considered ways to expand civic education and to include more on public service in school curricula. More information on the policy options that were discussed during this hearing can be found in the staff memorandum.

In the afternoon, a second hearing explored how the government can develop or encourage an expectation of service in America, through a system designed to connect individuals to opportunities in military, national, and public service.
